I-95 Meet & Greet Success

  • Friday (January 23), we took the FN show on the road again.

At 8:30 am, we started meeting and greeting southbound travelers on I-95 at the Florida Welcome Center. We spent the next six and a half hours promoting our sponsor organizations and proclaiming the joys of nude recreation in general. What a blast!

Like our experience at the I-75 Welcome Center, people were mostly interested in finding out more, if not outright supportive. There were very few negative reactions, none of which were hostile. We gave away FN-branded shopping bags seeded with the latest FN brochure and branded SPF 15 Lip Balm. Not surprisingly, even those with a less-than-enthusiastic response were happy to take the lip balm!

As always, we received compliments on our presentation and friendly banter. One Visit Florida staff member working at an adjacent counter told us she enjoyed watching us interact with the visitors.

Arlene Thomason debuted as a “Sunshine Advocate” and wowed everyone she spoke with. She quickly developed a technique of catching the men’s attention by asking them if she could “give them a kiss.” A positive response resulted in being handed a Hershey’s Kiss from the candy bucket. With the ice broken, she had their full attention.

We were again pleased to share a table with Tampa Bay Free Beaches. Jack Clark and Maryanne Rettig informed people about TBFB’s efforts to re-establish a clothing-optional beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida. We all continue to be amazed at how many people (including Florida residents) have no idea there are four such beaches along Florida’s Atlantic Coast! Even fewer realized the number of family-friendly resorts and clubs spread throughout the state.

There’s clearly a lot of educational work still to be done. We intend to take advantage of every opportunity to demonstrate how “normal,” friendly, and fun nudists are. Your continued interest and support are vital and very much appreciated.

Blind Creek Beach
Does it Again

  • The fine work of the Treasure Coast Naturists continues. They’re a superb example of a naturist organization working with local government for the good of all.

Here’s what the Visit St. Lucie article says:

Blind Creek Beach in Fort Pierce is a one-of-a-kind gem that visitors and locals adore for its unique, natural charm. As one of the few clothing-optional beaches in Florida, it’s a liberating oasis where people can embrace the natural beauty of the shoreline and themselves. This beach is all about shedding more than just layers – it’s about letting go of worries and immersing yourself in the serene, untouched landscape. Surrounded by the unspoiled, natural beauty of Blind Creek Beach, it’s no wonder it’s become a treasured escape for those seeking a liberating and authentic beach experience in the Sunshine State.

At the 2023 Visit Florida Governor’s Conf on Tourism

FN at Visit Florida’s Gov’s Conference on Tourism

  • Throughout the two-day event, some 800+ attendees interacted with over 50 exhibitors, including Florida Nakations. We were pleased with all the positive feedback we received about our booth design and everyone we talked with was very receptive to our mission. We were able to hand out a lot of the material and promotional items you provided by our sponsors.

Our list of interested parties is surprisingly long. We’ll be following up with everyone in the coming days with the intention of forming working relationships.

One of the more exciting contacts was with a representative of the Florida hotel industry. They invited us to attend a November hotel-industry conference in Orlando. Raising public awareness about clothing-optional tourism among Florida’s hospitality industry is exactly the kind of benefit we hoped to gain from attending GC22. This is a very promising lead we will be exploring.

We can’t say it enough. The financial support of our sponsors was the key component in our success. All the feedback we received was encouraging and made the time and effort worthwhile.

Our plan, now, is to incorporate what we learned at GC22 to refine our messaging and strategy going forward. We’ve only just begun!

Please Help Us With Our
Social Media Survey

  • We’re trying to decide if creating social media accounts for Florida Nakations is prudent. If so, which platforms would be most effective in communicating our message?

On one hand, when effectively leveraged, social media can provide valuable communication channels. On the other hand, keeping multiple accounts up-to-date with relevant content is a huge time commitment. This question looms large: Will that investment of time and effort really pay measurable dividends?

We’ve created a very short, anonymous survey to help us determine our best direction. We would appreciate it if you would take one minute to answer five questions for us. You’ll find the survey by clicking here.

Thank you for your time and feedback.
